Iran, Syria and Switzerland hold talks on aid to Syrian refugees

TEHRAN – On Wednesday Iran, Syria, and Switzerland held a trilateral meeting in Tehran on humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees.

The meeting was led by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahin, Syrian Assistant Foreign Minister Ahmad Arnous, and Manuel Bessler, the deputy foreign Minister and head of Humanitarian Aid Unit of Switzerland.
The three sides assessed the ways on sending humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees. They also held talks on intra-Syria dialogue for settling the conflict in the country which has been raging the country for more than four years.
According to reports, the top diplomats also discussed the developments in the region.
Bessler thanked Iran for hosting the meeting and also Syrian representatives for attending the session despite afflictions, underlining it as a sign of care for humanitarian aid.
“We need step-by-step cooperation. We hope that this meeting boosts cooperation and Iran’s humanitarian efforts,” he said.
